DIY Plank Sign
My husband and I own a manufacturing company, so there is always fun bits and pieces laying around. One afternoon i saw these scraps sticking out of a trash can, so as any good crafter, I snagged these gems asap! I had the guys sand them and even them up for me and I brought them home for a not-yet-determined-project.
I decided to make a Surname sign for a wall that goes from our garage to the main house.
(we enter through the garage).
I nailed them straight to the wall. I even used a level to make sure it was straight. But i forgot to make sure the sides were straight...opps. Adds to the charm, right?
Then I got busy on the Cricut Explore cutting out letters.
Then "weeding" (taking out the extra bits off the vinyl) and placing the words on the planks.
UGH! Didn't notice that i laid the C right over a nail.... oh well, carry on...
Looked around my craftroom for something fun to spice it up,
and I found these Tim Holtz embellishments.
I'm happy how it turned out. (Even though my kids aren't technically THATCHERS)
I like it! I could add more clips and use it to Christmas cards or birthday cards.
As for me and my house we will serve The Lord - Joshua 24:15
